Liverpool celebrate after beating Chelsea in 8 goal thriller (22 July)


Liverpool celebrated receiving the league trophy for the first time in 30 years as they beat Chelsea in a thriller at Anfield.

Jordan Henderson was presented with the premier league trophy by legend Sir Kenny Dalglish on the Kop after Jurgen Klopp's side made it three  unbeaten seasons at Anfield.



Liverpool aim to end the season on a high (17 July)


OK - the home record has gone, the points record has gone. Let's get over it. Liverpool's have achieved the holy grail, after Chelsea at Anfield, the wait to lift the trophy will be over.

Liverpool will go into the Chelsea game aiming to win our last home game of the season and then we just one further win against Newcastle will ensure the team are back to winning ways and bring on next season.

 

Premier League trophy ceremony on the Kop (17 July)


Fans will not be at Anfield to watch but the ceremony will be but It will be aired for free on Sky's Pick channel in the UK.

Sir Kenny Dalglish will hand out winners medals before Henderson lifts the trophy, who will be the first Liverpool captain to lift the trophy awarded to the English champions since  1990.

The trophy will be received  on a podium in the Kop surrounded by banners made by fans and it will be truly amazing and emotional night for the team and all Liverpool fans.



Games to be played - records to be broken (9 July)


The season isn't over yet and there is plenty that Liverpool can achieve. So what can the mighty reds achieve this season?

Biggest lead at top of the table
Liverpool had a 25 point lead at one point of the season, this is largest in the history of the English top division.


Earliest a football team has ever won the league title
The league was won with seven games to spare, beating the records set by Manchester United in 2000/2001 and Manchester City in 2017/18.


Most season wins
Manchester City won 32 games in the 2017/18 . Liverpool have won 30 so far...

Most season home wins
Manchester United,  Manchester City and Chelsea share the record of 18 season home wins. Liverpool have won 17 so far with two games to play at Anfield.

Most points in a season
Liverpool will beat Manchester City's record of 100 points by winning another 12 points. 

Biggest winning margin
Manchester City won the title with a 19 points gap in 2017/18. Liverpool are currently 23 points ahead.


When will Liverpool lift the trophy? (9 July)


Liverpool will finally lift the Premier League trophy on the final home game of the season on July 22, against Chelsea. These are the final games of the season.
